3ds Viewer is a tool for viewing static scenes made with 3ds max 9 or any later version. You can view and browse your 3d scenes, such as interiors, exteriors or any other 3d models, with standard source of light. Advanced lighting and custom cameras are not supported in the current version. Submaterials of materials are supported, but submaterials of submaterials are NOT supported (they are auto-replaced with the corresponding basic materials).
How to use:
Before exporting any scene to your mobile device please install the “ASE_converter” utility to your 3ds max-equipped computer. The installer is located in the application shared folder and can be accessed via iTunes. On installing the utility you can use the following instruction to export scenes:
1. Export your 3ds max scene in the “.ASE” format to the same directory on your local disk storage as that of your “.max” scene file. Ensure that the “Mapping Coordinates” option is enabled in the “ASCII Export” dialog window.
Please note that the absolute paths to all the texture image files must not contain non-ASCII characters. If they does, copy the files to the directory of your “.max” scene file. The texture image file name must not contain non-ASCII characters either.
2. Double click on the file you just exported to convert it to the portable format.
3. On converting the file you will see a new file with the same name but with the “zip” extension in the same directory. Just copy this file to the shared folder of this application via iTunes. After that the scene will be accessible to browse.
